Who should take the Digital Underwater Photography Course?
Today, there are many different types and models of digital camera’s. On any family outing, social gathering, day trip and even party, someone (or more than one person) will have a digital camera. They range from the secret agent type that fits into your pocket/handbag to the type that needs its own backpack, some of them are designed to go underwater without a housing and some are designed to be able to get wet in a shower of rain (or shower?). Digital photography gives you instant results, where you are able to see the picture on the LCD screen, so that you know whether you got the shot you were aiming for or not (delete). The different types of shooting on land like landscapes, action shots, close-ups, plants and animals, people and buildings all make for a great hobby.
As a diver or snorkeler we have the same chances with a underwater digital camera. To get great shots of what we see, the most common comment is “isn’t it colourful down there, I thought it would be darker than this” from non-divers and snorkelers. The same opportunities for subject shooting are available like: landscapes, action shots (fast swimming marine life), close-ups (macro shots), plants and animals (fans, coral and shrimps), people (dive buddies, posing for those classic shots) and buildings (ship wrecks and dropoff’s) all of these chances double the enjoyment of any time spent in the water. You may have a talent yet to be unleashed…
