Who can do it?
PADI Openwater Scuba Instructors
New Instructors need to practice their new skills, while increasing opportunities for future employment, by becoming a PADI Specialty Instructors in a number of different specialties and teaching courses. The best introduction to Instructing is to start with a small class and be surrounded by experienced Instructors prepared to help, whenever you need it.
This program takes new PADI Openwater Scuba Instructors through the PADI Specialty Instructor Training process up to PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer, after certifying 25 people. You have the chance to teach courses under the supervision of experienced Instructors, and you start with small classes and teach everything you are certified in. Once a PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer your certifications will show good experience and proficiency in all levels of PADI Courses.
How long does it take?
This is a Full Time program for 3 months, from Monday to Friday 9am through 4pm.
Can I do it Part Time?
There is also a part time option available for Dive Instructors who would like to gain their Master Scuba Diver Trainer (MSDT) qualification but do not want to leave their current job. The schedule is Monday to Thursday or Thursday to Sunday, from 9am to 4pm each of the days.

There is also a large reduction in the retail price of Scuba equipment for students. So if you do not have your equipment already, as you go through your training with us you will learn about the equipment available, so that you choose what you need to get to work.
What will I be doing?
Your days will be filled with being part of a PADI 5 Star Instructor Development Centre where you will see first-hand the teaching of all levels of PADI Courses, guiding Certified Divers, Boat Operation, Equipment maintenance and many other interesting aspects of this industry.
As well as classroom study there is a lot of diving required for this program, a fun way to develop the skills and attitude to work in the Dive Industry.
Whitsunday Diving Academy has agreements with some of the Charter Boat Operators here in Airlie Beach, so that selected Candidates get the chance to go out and work as part of the crew. This way you get to experience this aspect of the industry, if you and the Operator are happy with each other then there could be a chance of employment once your training has been completed. There are Day Boats and Live-aboards involved, the Charter Boats are looking for crew regularly because Crew here generally stay around for 3 months, 6 months and sometimes 1 year and then move on around the country or world.
What Qualifications will I gain?
At the end of you Internship Level 3 you will be a fully certificated PADI MSDT with following qualification:
Emergency First Response Instructor
Emergency Oxygen Provider Instructor
Master Scuba Diver Trainer
and a fully certificated PADI Instructor of the following specialties:
Underwater Naturalist Instructor
Deep Diver Instructor
Search and Recovery Instructor
Multilevel Diver Instructor
Underwater Navigation Instructor
