Scuba Career Induction – Level Two
Who can do it?
Students who have completed a level 1 internship
Anyone who has a PADI Divemaster or equivalent qualification
Dive Instructors from other Associations wishing to cross-over to PADI
To secure a job as a Dive Instructor at international resorts, dive centre’s and charter boats you need to be certified as a PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer, with a minimum of 5 Specialty Instructor Certifications, and have experience in conducting Discover Scuba Diving, Openwater Diver, Advanced Openwater Diver, Rescue Diver, Emergency First Response, Emergency Oxygen Provider and Divemaster Courses, as well as your 5 Specialties.
The Scuba Career Induction – Level Two program incorporates all of this under the guidance of a PADI Course Director, with 25 years of dive industry experience. You will also gain experience in management of facilities, accommodation, and scuba equipment, and boat and vehicle operations. Skill and experience in these is vital for any professional Dive Instructor. Additionally social media, POS computer system, retail sales and marketing are required skills that each individual Dive Instructor must be proficient in.
How long does it take?
The full time Scuba Career Induction – Level Two program runs over 3 months, Monday to Friday from 9am to 4pm.
Can I do it Part Time?
There is also a part time option available for those who would like to get qualified to work in the Dive Industry, but not leave work straight away. The schedule is Monday to Thursday or Thursday to Sunday, from 9am to 4pm each of the days.

There is also a large reduction in the retail price of Scuba equipment for students. So if you do not have your equipment already, as you go through your training with us you will learn about the equipment available, so that you choose what you need to get to work.
What will I be doing?
Your days will be filled with being part of a PADI 5 Star Instructor Development Centre where you will see first-hand the teaching of all levels of PADI Courses, guiding Certified Divers, Boat Operation, Equipment maintenance and many other interesting aspects of this industry.
As well as classroom study there is a lot of diving required for this program, a fun way to develop the skills and attitude to work in the Dive Industry.
Whitsunday Diving Academy has agreements with some of the Charter Boat Operators here in Airlie Beach, so that selected Candidates get the chance to go out and work as part of the crew. This way you get to experience this aspect of the industry, if you and the Operator are happy with each other then there could be a chance of employment once your training has been completed. There are Day Boats and Live-aboards involved, the Charter Boats are looking for crew regularly because Crew here generally stay around for 3 months, 6 months and sometimes 1 year and then move on around the country or world.
What Qualifications will I gain?
At the end of you Internship Level 2 you will be a fully certificated PADI Instructor with following qualification:
Open Water Scuba Instructor
Emergency First Response Instructor
Emergency Oxygen Provider Instructor
Master Scuba Diver Trainer
and a fully certificated PADI Instructor of the following specialties:
Underwater Naturalist Instructor
Deep Diver Instructor
Search and Recovery Instructor
Multilevel Diver Instructor
Underwater Navigation Instructor
